In California, stores such as Whole Foods, REI and Mollie Stones have been busy pulling the old Bisphenol A (BPA) bottles from shelves. BPA is a hormone disrupting ingredient that is banned in Canada, but not in the U.S. Stores that sell SIGG bottles are now offering customers a FREE replacement or refund."

It’s easy to check and see if you purchased a SIGG containing BPA. Simply take a look at the inside rim (liner) of your SIGG bottle, if it is GOLD, then you are entitled to a replacement. The GOLD rim liners are the bottles in question. You can also get a FREE replacement through the SIGG website on-line at www.mysigg.com. The new and BPA-free SIGG bottles, according to SIGG, have beige colored liners. SIGG says it started selling the new BPA-free bottles in August of 2008.
