Industry "disturbed" at EU Commission decision on BPA

Chemical Watch: "The EU plastics industry has said it is 'astonished' by yesterday’s decision by the European Commission's Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health to ban the use of bisphenol A (BPA) in baby bottles from March 2011, claiming it goes against scientific evidence. Meanwhile, consumer health NGOs have called for the EU to go further, warning that while the substance remains in food contact materials, breastfed babies remain."
